My name is Rizwan Marraj, and I am the founder of DES In Pardes Canada.

Like many Pakistanis living abroad, I left my homeland carrying dreams in my heart—but I also carried something even more precious: my love for Pakistan, its culture, its traditions, and the incredible craftsmanship of its people.

Living in Canada, I often found myself missing the vibrant colors of Pakistani truck art, the elegance of handcrafted textiles, the warmth of traditional tea served in beautifully painted cups, and the timeless beauty of our local artisans' work. Every handcrafted piece reminded me of home, family, and the memories that shaped who I am.

That feeling inspired me to create DES In Pardes Canada.

This is more than a business. It is my way of building a bridge between Pakistan and Canada—a place where people can experience the beauty, creativity, and rich heritage of Pakistan through authentic handcrafted products.

Our name, DES In Pardes, reflects exactly who we are. Des means our homeland, and Pardes means living far away from it. Even though we are miles from Pakistan, our roots remain strong, and our hearts continue to beat for the country we proudly call home.

My mission is to give these handmade creations the recognition they deserve while allowing Pakistanis living abroad to stay connected to their culture and helping others discover its beauty.
